Project: Law office
(Assigned Fall Semester 2012)
The challenge is to create a law office within a pre-existing building and provide branding.
The design is extrapolated from art deco and a 1940's police staition or detective's office, film noir.
Sustainability in mind, the brick walls were revealed and refurbished while retaining its' old character.
Board Two: Reception
(Perspective)
(Custom Door)
(Chair and Sofa)
(Fabric choice)
(Custom Reception Desk)
The reception area is composed of different seating arrangements to deal with a variety of proximity situations. My color choices were derived from the logo and a 1945's police station. The color blue from the logo makes the furniture stand out. Rich wood tones, red brick walls and concrete floors are reminisent of the police station. To bring attention to the reception desk, it is designed so that the projecting wood detailing is back lit. The doors behind the desk consist of glass panels with an inspired frosted Art Deco design and the company logo is displayed prominently above the door.
This location is best for the reception area because of the abundance of natural light coming through the large entrance windows and the primary entry it is located near the pedestrian walk in downtown Athens.
